How to turn an entrance exam practice test into a better study plan

Use college entrance exam practice tests, timed mock exams, answer explanations, and an error log to improve accuracy and pacing for Philippine CETs.

Use a short baseline before a full mock

Begin with a manageable mixed set to identify priority competencies. A baseline reduces guesswork and helps a student avoid spending the first weeks reviewing topics that are already secure.

Simulate timing only after rebuilding foundations

Timed practice is essential, but speed cannot repair a missing concept. First correct repeated knowledge gaps, then use subject sets and full mocks to practise pacing, skipping, and returning to difficult items.

Review correct guesses as well as wrong answers

An answer key is not enough. Record why the chosen answer was wrong, why the correct answer fits, and whether the issue was knowledge, reading, reasoning, timing, or carelessness.

Treat every score as preparation evidence

Practice scores can show improvement and remaining gaps, but they are not university cut-offs or admission forecasts. Compare attempts under similar conditions and use the result to define the next study block.

Keep university facts current. Exam dates, eligibility, requirements, and scoring policies can change. Verify them on the relevant university admissions site before acting.
